Our short but interesting story so far
The idea
Mid 2011 - idea to bring the Segway to Luxembourg for touristic activities
End 2011 - contract with Mobilboard Franchise to become exlusive Mobilboard Dealer for Luxembourg.
Project started under Brain&More.
People involved in the idea and financial start: Bruno PINTO (Freelance), Ricardo SILVA (Freelance), Ghislain LUDWIG (Brain&More), Frank ZEIMET (Brain&More)
The main idea was to propose Segway tours to tourists and locals in the cities of Luxembourg, Remich, Schengen and Rumelange.
Soon partnerships were built with the LCTO, ONT and other influent actors in the touristic branch.
A first batch of 8 Segway i2 was purchased in December 2011 and april 2012 saw a second batch ordered to fulfill the needs for bigger incentive groups and 2 teams offering tours in various cities simultaneously.
The beginning - Segtours Sàrl
Finally as the business evolves... and we create a company with the name Segtours Sàrl in 2013.
Main purpose is to rent Segways in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
Beginning of 2014 we had our 10.000st customer on a Guided Tour.
With this strong reputation of quality and security, we had to build something bigger... hence, ElectriCity came into our minds to finally go to an E-mobility solution.
The evolution - ElectriCity Sàrl
End 2014 - Segtours Sàrl changes name and becomes ElectriCity Sàrl to represent its current state of development of products & services.
End 2014 - Launch of new site www.electricity.lu
End 2014 - Launch of physical store in Belval Plaza II.
Mid 2015 - Founding members Ricardo, Frank and Ghislain leave ElectriCity to focus on other projects.
Mid 2015 - Philippe VOGT joins Bruno PINTO (managing director of ElectriCity) as a partner to carry on the aims set for ElectriCity Sàrl.
End 2015 - Launch of 2 pop-up stores in Luxembourg-city and Ettelbrück.
